The Checkpoint specialises in the screening and assessment of people who
work in vulnerable roles and who are exposed to all of the potential
problems that are associated with those positions, particularly
child abuse. We offer a comprehensive service to parents who wish to
engage a nanny. We're not an agency and do not therefore, rely on
placements for our fees. We are completely impartial and objective
in the way we report on candidates.
At the heart of the operation is Michael Hames. His background encompasses
32 years in the Metropolitan Police and latterly as the Detective
Superintendent in charge of Scotland Yard's paedophilia unit. For
the past seven years, he has helped organisations to stay safe by
advising on policies and screening individuals who are put in charge
of young people.
As part of each assessment, Michael and his team will:
Conduct an in-depth interview with each candidate.
Undertake personality profiling and assessment.
Thoroughly check all previous employment.
Carry out a check with the Criminal Record Bureau.
Include a health declaration and report from the candidate's doctor on health and suitability.
Report on all of the above with a copy for the candidate.
